EUGENIE KAVANAGH FOR MAYOR OF BROCKTON

Hello Brockton!

My name is Eugenie Kavanagh, and I am honored to announce that I am running for Mayor of Brockton. 

I’m a proud mother of two college students, a 13-year Army combat veteran, and a licensed social worker with a master’s degree. I’m also an alum of Massasoit Community College and Bridgewater State University. 

I moved to Brockton in 2015, and immediately felt its energy, diversity, and promise. Since then, this city has become my home. A place where I’ve found both personal challenges and deep purpose. 

As a single parent, I’ve faced the weight of rising costs, homelessness, and the struggle to access IEPs and behavioral health services for my children. I know firsthand what it means to keep showing up and fighting for your family, no matter the odds. That’s why I founded Mother’s Pride LLC. Mother’s Pride Mission supports the family dynamic within the LGBTQ youth community through a faith-based perspective.

I began my advocacy through grassroots organizing in 2017, pushing for education reform that contributed to the passage of the Millionaires Tax. I’ve served as a board member, treasurer, and organizer with Brockton Interfaith Community and partnered with D.A.R.R.C. and City Life/Vida Urbana to fight displacement and expand access to affordable housing. I’ve led voter registration efforts, census outreach, and supported funding for Brockton Mutual Aid that assisted families with vital resources during the COVID-19 crisis. 

My professional work has focused on supporting elders, youth, and families through mental health care, healthcare access, and guiding court-involved students referred by Brockton Public Schools. 

My Mission is Clear: To Lead Brockton with Heart, Grit, and Integrity!
